The Padova range of stone effect wall and floor tiles come in 15.5cm x 15.5cm size to 31.6cm x 45cm large format. Tiles for the bathroom floor need to be hard-wearing so that they last, and not too smooth to prevent accidents. A tile with a coefficient of friction (COF) rating of at least 0.60, dry and wet should be used.

Note that bathroom tiles will need to be vitreous or impervious to water to prevent damage. For this reason, porcelain tiles are a good choice. Porcelain tiles are manufactured in a variety of shades and colours all the way through or simply surface glazed with tones of a natural effect. They are incredibly hard and so they are good for bathroom floors.

Natural stone such as marble, slate, granite and sandstone is also great for floors and the tiles can also be used on walls, counter tops and back splashes. Quarry tiles can stain easily so a sealer will be required.
